Multicultural music in the general music classroom reflects our student population.  As our student population has become increasingly diverse, students need to see themselves within the music they study in our classrooms. Use music from a wide variety of cultures, and embrace the rich diversity of musical styles. Celebrating diversity creates an inclusive classroom, engagement through dance/movement, and fostering open-minded students toward new music. Taking a culturally responsive approach to music education encourages students to explore differences while discovering what they share in common with other cultures.
