In this session, intended for middle and high school ELA teachers, attendees will learn the ins and outs of teaching narrative writing from an experienced journalist, newspaper editor, writer's group member, and first-time novelist formerly enrolled in the Stanford non-MFA certificate program for novel writing. Teachers will learn how to facilitate a writer's workshop tailored for middle- and high-school students. The course will include principles of narrative writing, facilitating the writing process, guiding students in telling their truth, and other key topics.
